Median, Mode, Mean & Range [Unguided]

A simulation where learners input and adjust data sets to instantly see how the mean, median, mode, and range change, helping them understand and compare measures of central tendency and variability.

Lab objectives and outcomes

Students will be able to identify how changes in a data set directly affect its calculated mean, median, mode, and range.
Students will be able to analyze the impact of specific data point manipulations (e.g., adding an outlier, changing a value) on the mean, median, mode, and range of a data set.
Students will be able to differentiate between the characteristics and behaviors of the mean, median, mode, and range when various data sets are inputted and adjusted.

Track learner progress

Run this simulation with a class and watch it happen: who started, who finished, and how long each learner took. Drill into a run to see what they actually did.

Group sessions

SimGenie acts as a built-in lab assistant. A learner who gets stuck can ask for a hint by voice, and it adapts its guidance to what they are doing in the scene.
