Impulse Transmission Through Neurons [Unguided]

A simulation where learners trace the path of an electrical impulse through a neuron, observing depolarization, synaptic transmission, and neurotransmitter release to understand how signals travel within the nervous system.

Lab objectives and outcomes

Students will be able to identify the key events involved in the depolarization of a neuron membrane.
Students will be able to trace the sequential path of an electrical impulse as it travels through a neuron and crosses a synapse.
Students will be able to explain the role of neurotransmitters in transmitting an electrical signal across a synaptic cleft.

Track learner progress

Run this simulation with a class and watch it happen: who started, who finished, and how long each learner took. Drill into a run to see what they actually did.

Group sessions

SimGenie acts as a built-in lab assistant. A learner who gets stuck can ask for a hint by voice, and it adapts its guidance to what they are doing in the scene.
